oday in class we got out test's back I got an 81  we went over Greece again, The great civilizations and key rivers in Greece are  Mesopotamia / Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, Egypt / Nile River, India / Indus River, and China / Huang He River. Greece had many significances such as the location, topography, and surroundings. On the test we need to know  w hat bodies of water surround Greece, w hat large island is to the south/southeast, and we need to d escribe where Athens and Sparta are located relative to the sea, and to each other. T hey had many skilled sailors and shipbuilders. A lso farmers, metalworkers, weavers, potters. T hey had poor / limited natural resources, so they needed to trade, it was difficult to unite the ancient Greeks because of the terrain. Greece developed small, independent communities (city-states), and that’s who they were loyal to.

In that time, tyrants seized power in a very harsh way. They would do whatever it took to become king, even if it meant having to assassinate people close to them. The king of Rome had a daughter who married Tarquin who wanted the power, So he assassinated his wife father to gain that power. This just shows how the kings back then didn't care about their people and only wanted power. This made the whole system rigged because one could seize power by killing everyone who stands in their way. After this occurred the Rome people saw a problem with their own government and ran the entire family out of Rome. Then they got rid of tyranny all together and made a government quite like the one we still use today, The people (plebs) eventually got power to made decisions. We based our government off there government but with some differences like our "bill of rights" was their "twelve tables" and we have 100 senators that serve terms they had 300 aristocratic members that...

The plague in Athens hit way harder then COVID-19. The plague in Athens killed nearly 1/3 of the population which was a LOT of people. This plague has not killed near that number. But one of the biggest differences is that the Athens pandemic for the most part stayed in Athens because the Spartans were containing them inside their city, COVID-19 is a worldwide pandemic but the technology we have nowadays helps us be able to lower the impact and finding a cure un like what they had in Athens.
